Antlers is a commercial art gallery, nomadic by design. Based in Bristol, supporting emerging artists and producing temporary exhibitions in varying locations; with their only permanent base now being online. As a nomadic gallery they have used empty spaces across the city through negotiations with Bristol City Council and private landlords, including: 3 Whiteladies Gate, 2 Park Street, 4 Quakers Friars, 11 Christmas steps, 6 Philadelphia Street, and Victorian Toilets Park Row.
‘There was this time we did a show in a warehouse and had a pigeon flying around the space all day – had to cover all the paintings over night then coax it out with pastries from the local bakery in the morning.’
Future: Continuing to occupy empty spaces on short term leases.
